Today I put up our Christmas tree. It is not a real tree and it is not big, but it works for our little house. There are not many ornaments on the tree this year, but for this year, simple is best. I chose the ornaments that are most special and best tell the story of the Sweeney 4.
I was not as emotional about putting the tree up as I thought I might be, but I also chose to do it on a "good" day. Looking through the ornaments made me sad, but it was also a good reminder of all the blessings that Ryan and I experienced together. I will continue to be thankful for the time that we did have together even though I wish there had been more.

There are stories behind most of the ornaments, so if you are interested in knowing about a specific ornament, feel free to ask and I would be happy to share!

Oh this is beautiful! What a wonderful idea!! You are so creative - the ornaments are so precious! Thanks for sharing with the rest of us!!!
Im so glad that you survived getting the tree up - we attempted to start ours tonight, unfortunetly it put me in a bad (and sad) mood...go figure. Maybe tomorrow will be better?!?
Your kids are so lucky to have such a wonderful, loving and strong mommy! Ryan is probably smiling from ear to ear over the 3 of you...
God bless you Kristin! You never cease to amaze me..
I'm so glad you have your tree up and that it went well. How did the kids like it? I'll bet they were excited! What was Ryan's favorite part about the holidays? What's your favorite ornament?
i love that you chose ones with special meaning...it is beautiful!
I don't know why I remeber the things I do, but I remeber the year you and Ryan bought your ornaments and maybe the tree also at the after Christmas sales for the next year. You and Ryan were describing all you bought and were going to have a "blue" theme I believe, someone commented that it sounded very nice and Ryan said..."it will be the best tree ever". He was so proud. I love seeing your tree now with your family ornaments and stories. Enjoy the days ahead as we anticipate the celebration of the birth of our savior Jesus Christ.
