Lunch Time Update

We were able to meet with Dr. Ojo this morning and she was a great reassurance to all of us. She is optimistic about Ryan's care. His LAS is up to 81 and she does not know of anyone higher than that. The social worker, Lisabeth, said that he would even draw from areas outside of the 1500 mile radius.

They have decided to give Ryan another day of "rest". He is still requiring a lot of oxygen so he is heavily sedated. They NEED for him to be transitioning off the vent within 7-10 days (from the start). They are hoping to put a trach in and get him mobile during the day and use the ventilator to rest him at night. In order for that to happen his oxygen has to go down to 30-35 and right now he is at 70%.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! pray that he is either able to get his new lungs or get the trach in!!!!! If one of those 2 things does not occur, he may have to go on hold. Please pray also that Ryan does not get some sort of intestinal infection caused by the antibiotics that could put him on hold. Pray also that we get the rest that we need while Ryan is so sedated, once he is awake he will need us much more.
