I have now had a few hours of sleep and I am feeling so much better! Ryan is doing well on the ventilator (carbon dioxide levels were 63 at 6:30 pm). It is extremely hard to watch him hooked up to all the tubes, but it is nice to know that he is resting and that his body is "healing". The hardest part is watching him when he is "coughing".
The plan for today is at a standstill. We are waiting for phone call either from U of M or from Spectrum telling us that there is a bed available in the ICU at U of M or that the helicopter is ready to take him over there. He will be transferred at some point today. Ryan's family (mom, dad, sister, and grandma) all arrived last night and will be traveling over there with me today.
Specific Prayer Requests:
- Safe flight for Ryan
- Safe travel for all of us driving
- Ryan can successfully be weaned from the ventilator
- Ryan can remain a transplant candidate (it became a fine line when he went on the ventilator).
- The doctors will have great wisdom for Ryan's care
- Lily and Wyatt will adjust to all of the craziness
I will be taking the laptop with me to U of M. I can update from the cafeteria when things calm down a little. Thanks again for all of your prayers and support!
