Ryan is stable and resting comfortably. I want to update some mis-information that I gave out early. Ryan is NOT on hold! He would be able to receive his new lungs if they became available tonight. Right now his is listed at the same LAS as he was last week, but once we get to U of M they will put in information into the system showing that he is on the ventilator and his LAS will probably go up into the 80's. This would allow him to draw from more states and rank much higher among the different states.
The difference between being at Spectrum and U of M is the treatment he would receive. One of the first things that they will do at U of M is put a trach in and try to use the ventilator only at night. It would allow him to be more active and keep him in better condition for the transplant.
