Real Quick

Today has been another good day! Ryan held steady at 45% and a PEEP of 5.0. They were able to take him off the vent for about 10 minutes. It was a difficult thing for him, but he held his own and they will try again tomorrow to see if he can go for longer.

He is in great spirits tonight after an afternoon nap! He was talking with me and doing some of his exercises with a GREAT attitude. He is becoming easier to understand as he gains more strength in his facial muscles. We had a good visit with his Aunt Cathy and Uncle Dave and we are looking forward to a few visitors tomorrow.

I will be staying with him for the next few nights to see if that will help with his anxiety during the night. They have adjusted some of his sedation and that has really seemed to help today. They are also putting him on Sleep Protocol which will limit the number of times he (and I) are woken up in the middle of the night.

One more piece of good news and blessing, we were approved for a transplant grant that will cover some of the costs both pre- and post-transplant! Thank you, Jesus!
