Overall today was a good day. When I left tonight his oxygen was at 60% and his sats were in the mid 90's.
Ryan was able to mouth some words today...he said "hi" and "I love you". Those were the two words/phrases that I understood; he tried to say more but I was having trouble understanding. That is a little frustrating when he is trying to tell me something hurts, but it is good to have him communicating.
I think most of his discomfort comes from his swelling. Please pray that the swelling starts coming down so that he can be more comfortable. The doctors did mention that there is a minimal amount of fluid on his lungs, so I am sure if they could get that off it would help his breathing too. They also talked about their desire to see some forward progress rather than seeing Ryan remain just "stable". The attending doctor seems a little more aggressive than the attending that was on last month. I am interested in what he will choose to do for Ryan.
Ryan's Dad was able to get here safely this morning. It is nice to have some company again. We are looking forward to a visit with Ryan's childhood friend, Scott, this weekend and of course seeing my parents and Lily and Wyatt is a bright spot in the next few days.
