faith like a child

I wanted to share some sweet things Lily has said lately...mainly because I want to write them down and never forget what childlike faith is. What a blessing my children are to me!

  • Lily got out her notebook and pencil the other day and climbed onto the bar stool. She told me she needed to write her worship songs. Then she put her pencil down and sang. It may not have made sense to me, but I am sure God was blessed by her worship -- I was. (Wyatt did join in on writing worship songs the next day.)
  • Last night as we were heading to bed after baths, bible story, and prayers, Lily says, "Just a few more days til heaven, right?" I wish, my sweet girl, I wish.
  • Her bedtime prayers have taken on much more flavor recently. She will often come up with the funniest things to thank God for, but I know it is just her faith shining through. Here are some examples: Thank you God for all the animals, like the fish under the sea. Thank you for all the things you let us to do today, one-by-one. Thank you for all the people in the whole wide world. Thank you for everything that you created for us.

My children are such a bright spot in my life. I love to see them learning about Jesus and to see their faith grow! It melts this mommy's heart!

My Sweet Baby

Lily is still not herself. She fought against a stomach bug all day yesterday and went to bed before 7:00 last night. She slept for more than 14 hours straight! She woke up asking for milk which of course I could not give to her. She has eaten a little, and thankfully, she has kept it down, but she is still so lethargic. I don't think she has slept this much since she was 3 months old! Here are couple pictures of how I have found my baby girl each time I have checked on her in the family room (where she has laid in front of the television for the last two days!).

Sweet Innocence

I wanted to share a moment of my daughter's sweet innocence tonight.

She has come down with a cold: her nose is stuffy, she is sneezing a lot and needing her nose wiped often. I propped up her pillow and told her it would help her feel better.

She looked up from her place on her pillows and saw Ryan's picture. She gasped and said, "Daddy. I no feel so good Daddy."

I love that she still talks to her Daddy.

The Last Few Days...

We have gotten so much snow here in the last 5 days. We haven't gone out much because the weather has been so bad and "they" have been asking people to stay off the roads. We even had a snow day from church on Sunday. We are starting to get a little stir-crazy, but we have found things to occupy our time.

Lily got a hair cut, made a smiley face out of fruit magnets (Wyatt wanted her to stop saying "cheese"), and had to be a shepherd like her brother:

Wyatt (and Lily) have spent a lot of time reading "all by myself":

I have tried my hand at making truffles and peppermint patties (not sure why the truffles have become "spotted"):

We have watched the snow fall, and fall, and fall (this is our deck as of this afternoon...we are supposed to get another 10" by early Christmas morning):

Mommy's Little Gymnast

I have been working on somersaults with the kids for a few weeks. They both think that it is great fun, but they have always needed my help. Today while I was on the phone, Lily said, "Mommy, somersault, Mommy" and off she rolled.

It makes a Mommy proud! Wyatt is the one saying somersault in the video while encouraging Lily in her activity. He tried doing it himself too, but decided it hurt his head. :)
