Meeting Goals

Dr. Hyzy set a goal for Ryan today. He wanted Ryan to be able to stay on the trach mask for 30 minutes straight....he did and he did it well. He was stating between 95 and 98% the entire time. His anxiety was much lower today! Praise God for that answer to prayer. Tomorrow Dr. Hyzy wants Ryan to go for 45-60 minutes straight. Also, Ryan stayed on the pressure control settings for a total of five hours today!

Ryan had physical therapy this afternoon and stood up for the first time! It was very tiring for him, but it was a HUGE accomplishment. He also sat on the edge of his bed, sat in his bed in the chair position and rode a "bike" and learned how to do different exercises using a strength training band.

The progress that Ryan is making is so great! God deserves all the glory for the things being done in this hospital room.

Please be in prayer for Kim and her family. She is in a room just down the hall from Ryan. She was healthy, other than a cold a few days ago, and now she too is on a vent. She has two kids: 13 and 10 years old. They are praying for Ryan and our family too! Being a part of God's family is such an encouragement to me.
